Masks Required at church starting July 12, 2020

Church Family,

Governor DeWine mandated the use of masks in Summit County effective July 10. This mandate pertains to those 10 years and older inside public buildings, including churches. To help curb the spread of the virus, to be respectful to the authorities and to do what we can to show love for our neighbors, we ask everyone attending our in-person service to wear a mask starting this Sunday, July 12. This will remain in effect until the restrictions are relaxed by the state or we are given further information.  We will have masks available at church for anyone who needs one.

We understand people have many different opinions on this issue.  Some are not comfortable wearing a mask for a variety of reasons; others will not attend at all if everyone is not asked to wear a mask.  No matter how you feel, consider this question: “What would Jesus have me do at this time?”  Take time to pray about if it is better for your spiritual, physical and mental health (they are all connected) to stay home to watch the service on Sunday morning rather than attend in-person.  If you have children or lead a family, ask the same question concerning them.

Finally, please pray for our church and the church-at-large.  Now, as much as ever, people need Jesus and we need the church.  We are still committed to making sure everyone comes to Know God, has a place to Belong, lives with Purpose and spreads God’s Love.

Blessings,

Pastor Josh Deeter
